When it comes to a title, Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is high on the original list. Too bad the trailer looks like any other Tim Burton/Johnny Depp film with singing added. I'm sure the film (based on the musical of the same name) will be good - I was just hoping to be wowed by this preview and I'm not.

Ok, I love the whole cast of this movie. I really do. And I am beyond excited for Johnny Depp singing. The last time he sang in a movie was Crybaby.
But I agree that it looks like any other Tim Burton movie... his style certainly doesn't change much, does it?
And also, I was like of waiting for Captain Jack Sparrow to pop around the corner when I heard Depp speak, savvy?
And yet I'll probably go see it anyway. Because it's Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Alan Rickman. But I have a feeling I'll be disappointed.

I agree, the trailer doesn't blow you away. The narration is cheesy, there's hardly any music and there's no build up. It reveals way too much detail about the plot, which isn't necessary. Also, I'm disappointed that the movie has pre-story scenes (Barker's trial? sentencing? his life with Joanna?). I hope in the movies those are super brief memory scenes and that's it.

I just orgasmed. About 20 times. DO YOU REALIZE THAT ITS FUCKING ALAN RICKMAN AND JOHNNY DEPP ON THE SAME SCREEN AT THE SAME FUCKING TIME?!?!?!?!? THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!

More than anything, it just reminded me of "The Count of Monte Cristo."
