First I have to make two things clear. 1) I hate most sitcoms. 2) I do have a sense of humor but most of this stuff is just dumb. If you like unimaginative jokes we’re not going to get along.
Our first show for the fall lineup is Cavemen, brought to you by Geico (don't worry, none of the characters are insurance salesmen …sorry, insurance sales-cavemen). To start with, any show that is based on a commercial that wasn’t funny to begin with isn't likely going to be funny!

Cast of Cavemen
The premise is that from the dawn of time, cavemen have existed in the background (see photos), and despite all these things, "evolved people" have created stereotypes associated with these Cro-Magnon creatures. Basically, the show's creators are using cavemen to represent any and all visible minorities. This allows them to make comments that if the show was about any visual minority they wouldn't be allowed to. Well, not anymore. Back in the days when people understood comedies like All in the Family, you could get away with saying a lot of things. Now every group imaginable sues you.
The story focuses on Joel, Jamie, and Nick as three cavemen living in modern time under ‘the man’.
***SPOILER ALERT*** (really, there’s no reason to watch the show, so just keep reading).
The three guys have different personalities. Joel is trying to just blend into the world around him. He works for a store called NORSKBILD (think IKEA), and is dating Kate, a gorgeous American girl (blond hair, blue eyes, and a great body). He desperately wants her father to accept their relationship.
Nick is the militant caveman ("I’M A CAVEMAN AND YOU ALL SUCK BECAUSE YOU’RE NOT"). He doesn’t like Kate because she’s not a cavewoman and can’t accept that any homosapien would date a Cro-Magnon.
Finally you have Jamie… He’s an idiot. I’m not being mean, he actually is simple.

Jamie. Idiot.
The pilot episode revolves around Joel trying to ask Kate’s dad for his blessing for their upcoming marriage. It’s the 4th of July and Joel has been invited up to the “country club” by Kate as the boys tag along. Joel has trouble talking to the father, Jamie gets drunk after he gets hit on by a hot friend with a southern accent (who just wants to screw a caveman because she hears they are wild), and Nick impresses Kate's dad until he can’t make good on the money that he loses from a bet he makes. No hilarity ensues. It's not funny, it's not interesting, it's not political or social commentary. These jokes are something that my 10-year-old cousin wouldn't laugh at. Don't bother with it or you may end up losing brain cells by the end of the show (and many of us need to lose them on better things, like beer!).

Seriously ..I think you are way too uptight. I saw the pilot and I thought it was pretty funny considering it was quote on quote a tv show from a commercial. Stereotypes exist all over the world about minorities..and dont pretend like you don't see it..loosen the hell up... I think its pretty interesting how they point certain issues out that people are afraid to admit or talk about.. it will be a hit to those who have a sense of humor but not for those who has a stick up their ass lol..well thats all i have to comment on this!

Yes stereotypes exist, I don't think I've said otherwise have I? I see them everywhere hell I'm a victim of them to. But the point is that this isn't funny this isn't intelligent and this doesn't aid in any discussion. They don't point any issues out because they are making fun of cavemen you want it to point out issues make these guys Muslim/Black/Asian. Make it so that we understand you are trying to be funny and political not stupid. I guess you're right it will be a hit because it caters to low-brow sense of humor. I have no stick up my ass just a desire that television not treat the viewers like they are idiots who don't deserve the brains that were given to them at birth. Television networks have all but given-up on challenging their viewers to think. Watch All in The Family and tell me you think that this is better television than that. Take the fingers out of your ears and blinders off your eyes.

Cavemen sucks! I doubt it will last 6 more weeks. I would cancel it now, ABC. Cavemen is a loser in my book

I agree with the person who criticized cavemen! It sucks, and it will be cancelled soon! Cancel now, ABC!
